Photographer Loves Math, Graphs Her Images
Here are some of the pictures the photographer named Nikki Graziano have captured. Graziano, is a math and photography student at Rochester Institute of Technology, she overlays graphs and their corresponding equations onto her carefully composed photos.
“I wanted to create something that could communicate how awesome math is, to everyone,” she says.
Graziano doesn’t go out looking for a specific function but lets one find her instead. Once she’s got an image she likes, Graziano whips up the numbers and tweaks the function until the graph it describes aligns perfectly with the photograph. See more of her Found Functions series at Nikkigraziano.com.

Mabie
I use mabie instead of maybe out of habit and silly retaliation but I know some day it’s going to bite me in the ass.

Happyness
Something I have always found to be true is that when I am only truly happy at one of three times. The first two are pretty normal and completely understandable, they are when I am with good friends of mine and we are having a great time and when I am receiving Dharma/Contemplating (Meditating). The only other time I am truly happy is when I am stuck in compete depression. When something is crushing down on me like a cold shower, when I remember the things that made me the saddest. Only when I am stuck in complete misery is when I am happy. I don’t know why, mabie its some weird enjoyment I get out of feeling like I have nothing to care about but it reminds of for example I was reminiscing about a past failure of companionship with someone and although I was completely depressed it also felt like I was the happiest I had been in eternity. This is of course me getting swept up in the moment but it shows how gripping it is.

“Do not accept any of my words on faith,
Believing them just because I said them.
Be like an analyst buying gold, who cuts, burns,
And critically examines his product for authenticity.
Only accept what passes the test
By proving useful and beneficial in your life.”-The Buddha

Tibetan protests against China take a deadly new turn. Breaking their vows, young monks are self-immolating.
Deeply unsettling.

I would love to do this teaching at some point.
